Cheng Man Ch’ing’s 37 postures

Years ago, when I began learning tai chi, the first form I learned was Cheng Man Ch’ing’s 37 postures. At that time, I didn’t appreciate the form’s value: It wasn’t until I realized the importance of relaxation, of softening my body. Now that I’ve returned to that form and to William Chen’s 60 movement variation of it, I can appreciate how they both facilitate the development of softness.
